Since 2008, Corina Krawinkel has been hosting her exclusive Ladies Walk during the VIP Preview of ART COLOGNE. What is today one of the fair’s established formats originated from a simple idea: When Daniel Hug, upon taking office as director of ART COLOGNE, asked collectors how they could support the fair’s realignment, Corina Krawinkel suggested curated tours for women interested in art. This impulse developed into a format that has endured to this day.

Every year, Corina Krawinkel guides a selected group of female collectors, entrepreneurs, and art enthusiasts through the fair. This is not a traditional fair visit, but a personally curated journey of discovery. Each Ladies Walk follows its own thematic focus – be it a specific medium, an overarching theme, or current developments in contemporary art. Alongside renowned galleries and established artists, the focus is deliberately directed towards young positions and exciting new discoveries.

The focus is on personal exchange. The participants discuss art, gather new perspectives, and establish contacts within an established network of female collectors and art lovers. The Ladies Walk creates a framework in which art education, dialogue, and encounters naturally come together, often resulting in long-standing friendships and collector relationships.

The special quality of this format has not gone unnoticed by the public. Publications such as Welt am Sonntag and Kölnische Rundschau, among others, have reported on the Ladies Walk. ART COLOGNE itself has described the tours as having become “legendary” – an acknowledgment of a format that has been an integral part of the VIP Preview for almost two decades.

The Ladies Walk also represents the origin of Corina Krawinkel’s current work as an Art Advisor and founder of Corina Contemporary. Long before she launched her own platform for international exhibitions, artist residencies, and collector programs, she was bringing people together with art. This approach continues to shape her work today: Art is not solely understood by viewing works, but primarily through conversation, shared discovery, and personal exchange between artists, galleries, and collectors. The Ladies Walk is an expression of this conviction – and a format that has been inspiring generations of art enthusiasts since 2008.
